What Pneumanos Is, and What It Is Not

This page states plainly what Pneumanos offers and — just as importantly — what it does not. It is written to be read before you book, not discovered afterwards. Everything here also forms part of the Terms of Service.

1. What Pneumanos provides

Pneumanos provides spiritual discernment and consulting: unhurried, confidential conversation about questions of meaning, vocation, belief, doubt, grief, practice, and the decisions that grow out of them. In practical terms this means listening, asking questions, offering perspective, and drawing on religious, philosophical, and contemplative literature where it is useful to you.

It is a reflective and educational service. It is a conversation between two adults, one of whom has spent a long time thinking about these questions. That is the whole of it, and it is offered honestly as that.

2. Pneumanos is not therapy, counselling, or healthcare

This is the most important thing on this page.

• Pneumanos does not provide psychotherapy, counselling, psychology, psychiatry, psychoanalysis, social work, addiction treatment, or any other form of mental-health treatment.
• Pneumanos does not provide medical care, nursing care, nutritional therapy, or any other healthcare service, and does not offer complementary, alternative, holistic, or energy-based treatment of any kind.
• The practitioner is not acting as a licensed or registered healthcare or mental-health professional in the provision of this service, and holds no such role toward you regardless of any qualification they may hold in another context.
• Nothing said in a session or on this site is a diagnosis, a prognosis, a treatment plan, a clinical opinion, or medical advice. No condition is being assessed, treated, cured, managed, or prevented.
• No therapeutic relationship, doctor–patient relationship, or clinician–client relationship is created by using this site, booking a session, paying for one, or attending one.
• This service is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional, and must never be used as one. Do not delay seeking, or disregard, professional medical or mental-health advice because of something discussed here or written on this site. If you are already under the care of a clinician, nothing said here should be treated as overriding their guidance.
• Because this is not healthcare, it is not billable to insurance, not reimbursable, and not covered by any health plan. It is also not subject to healthcare-specific confidentiality regimes such as HIPAA. What you share is nonetheless treated as private — see the Privacy Policy for exactly how.

If what you bring to a session appears to call for clinical care, the practitioner will say so plainly and will encourage you to seek it. That is a limit of this service, stated in advance, not a judgement about you.

3. Pneumanos is not affiliated with any religious organisation

Pneumanos is wholly independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, funded by, accountable to, licensed by, ordained within, or speaking on behalf of:

• any church, denomination, diocese, synod, or communion;
• any temple, mosque, synagogue, gurdwara, sangha, monastery, or congregation;
• any religious order, seminary, council, board, or governing body;
• any spiritual movement, school, lineage, coven, grove, or teacher's line of transmission;
• any interfaith body, denominational association, or accrediting organisation.

References to religious traditions, texts, figures, or practices anywhere on this site are made for discussion and are not claims of membership, authority, endorsement, or approval by those traditions. No trademark, name, or symbol belonging to any religious body is used here to imply a connection with it.

It follows that Pneumanos offers no religious authority whatsoever. Nothing said in a session constitutes:

• a ruling, ruling opinion, fatwa, psak halacha, canonical judgement, or determination under any religious law;
• confession, absolution, penance, blessing, anointing, ordination, initiation, conversion, or any sacrament or rite;
• pastoral care, chaplaincy, or ministry provided on behalf of a religious body;
• an authoritative interpretation of any scripture, doctrine, or teaching;
• prophecy, revelation, divination, mediumship, or a claim to know your future.

Pneumanos serves people of every religious and spiritual background and of none, on equal terms. No tradition is treated as the correct one, no client is evangelised, recruited, converted, or discouraged from their own path, and no service is withheld or altered on the basis of what someone believes. If you want to be argued out of your faith — or into one — this is not the service for that.

4. Pneumanos is not legal, financial, or professional advice

Questions of meaning very often attach to decisions with legal, financial, immigration, employment, or family consequences. Those conversations are welcome. What is offered in them is reflection, not professional advice.

Nothing on this site or in a session is legal advice, financial or investment advice, tax advice, immigration advice, or professional advice of any regulated kind, and no solicitor–client, adviser–client, or fiduciary relationship is created. Consult a qualified professional in the relevant field before acting on anything that carries those consequences.

5. Decisions remain yours

The purpose of discernment is to help you think more clearly, not to decide for you. Every choice you make during or after a session — about your beliefs, your relationships, your work, your health, your money, or anything else — is your own decision, made on your own responsibility, with its own consequences.

No outcome is promised, guaranteed, or implied. There is no assurance that you will feel better, believe differently, reach clarity, resolve a question, or arrive anywhere in particular. Sessions may raise more questions than they settle; for many people that is the point, and it is not a failure of the service.

6. Not for minors, and not for everyone

Pneumanos is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account or attend a session.

Pneumanos may decline to begin or continue working with someone where the practitioner judges that this service is not appropriate for what they need — most often because the situation calls for clinical, legal, or pastoral help instead. Where that happens, any unused sessions are refunded and, where possible, a more suitable direction is suggested.

7. Confidentiality and its limits

What you write about a session is encrypted in our database and is read only by the practitioner. What you say in a session is treated as private. Nothing is sold, published, shared with third parties for their own purposes, or used to train machine-learning systems.

Because this is not a licensed healthcare service, it does not carry legal privilege. Confidentiality may be limited where there is a credible risk of serious harm to you or to another person, where a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk, or where we receive a lawful order we cannot refuse. 8. About this site

Content on this site is provided for general information and is offered "as is", without warranty of any kind. It may be updated, corrected, or removed at any time. The site is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free.

Payments are processed by Stripe, an independent third party. Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and are never seen, transmitted, or stored by Pneumanos.
